THE ADVANTAGES

Why choose hydroseeding for your home?

Choosing hydroseeding for your residential lawn means opting for a modern, efficient, and long-lasting solution. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to revitalize your lawn, this method offers many advantages that truly make a difference.

A Beautiful Lawn, Faster

Forget long waits! Hydroseeding often delivers visible germination in just 7 to 14 days, and your new lawn can be ready for its first mowing in as little as 3 to 5 weeks—much faster than with traditional seeding methods.

More Eco-Friendly and Less Watering

The biodegradable mulch included in the mixture retains moisture effectively—up to 10 times its weight in water! This reduces the need for frequent watering and lowers potable water consumption, all while enriching your soil.

Excellent Value for Money

Get a high-quality lawn without the high cost of sod. Hydroseeding typically costs less than half the price of sod (including installation), making it a smart, budget-friendly choice for your home.

A Dense and Even Result

Thanks to the uniform spray application, the seeds are evenly distributed, creating a denser, more consistent lawn with fewer weeds from the start compared to traditional seeding.

OUR METHOD

How does it work?

A Simple, Fast, and Effective Method

Our hydroseeding method is a proven and efficient process that combines several key elements to ensure a high-quality lawn. It allows for effective coverage of large areas or hard-to-reach spots, while offering an economical and eco-friendly solution to achieve the lawn of your dreams. Here’s how we do it:
Before any application, proper soil preparation is crucial. Our team carefully prepares your soil.

This includes cleaning the surface of stones and debris, leveling the ground, and ensuring that the soil has an adequate layer of topsoil, ideally 4 to 6 inches deep, to allow for good root development. If necessary, light scarification will be done to promote the penetration of the mixture.

A well-prepared soil is the key to successful germination.
We then prepare a specific liquid mixture in our specialized equipment (hydroseeder). This mixture contains:
  • Water: Acts as a binder and carrier for uniform application.
  • High-Quality Seeds: Carefully selected for their suitability to the conditions of Greater Montreal and your type of soil.
  • Mulch: Made from natural fibers (often wood or paper), 100% biodegradable. It retains moisture, protects the seeds, and enriches the soil as it decomposes.
  • Fertilizers: Essential nutrients to stimulate germination and initial growth.
  • Binding Agent (Tackifier): A natural, biodegradable “glue” that helps the mixture adhere to the soil, especially important for preventing erosion on sloped areas.
Using our hydroseeder, we evenly spray this nutritive mixture across the entire prepared surface. The pressure of the spray helps lightly integrate the seeds into the soil surface, while the colored mulch (often green) makes it easy to visualize the covered areas for uniform application. This mixture forms a protective layer that retains moisture, prevents erosion, and promotes rapid growth.
The direct contact of the seeds with water, fertilizers, and the protective mulch creates an ideal microenvironment for rapid and healthy germination. The mulch retains the necessary moisture and protects the young shoots, leading to the establishment of a dense lawn in just a few weeks with proper watering.

A few days after application, the first sprouts begin to appear. Within 2 to 4 weeks, you’ll see a green, dense, and well-established lawn. Regular watering, according to our recommendations, will optimize grass development.

Application of Hydroseed

Where does hydroseeding work wonders?

A versatile solution, no matter your layout.

Hydroseeding adapts to a wide variety of residential contexts. Whether your land is new, uneven, or simply in need of revitalization, this method is designed to deliver quick and lasting results, even in the most complex situations.

New Constructions

Have you just built your home and your land is still in its raw state? Hydroseeding is the ideal solution to create a healthy, uniform lawn from the start. It allows you to cover large areas quickly while minimizing costs.

Sloped or Hard-to-Reach Areas

Unlike sod, which can slip or be difficult to install on slopes, the hydroseeding mixture adheres perfectly to the soil. It prevents erosion and promotes even growth, even on sloped or uneven areas.

Damaged Lawns to Regenerate

Is your lawn sparse, dry, or damaged? Hydroseeding allows you to bring your lawn back to life without having to start from scratch. It’s an excellent option for reseeding evenly and efficiently.

Small and Large Spaces

Whether you have a small urban yard or a large suburban lot, our team adjusts the quantities, seed types, and application technique to provide optimal results for every situation.

AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY SOLUTION

For a green lawn... and a healthy planet

Choosing hydroseeding is a concrete step for the environment. This method uses biodegradable materials and requires less water than traditional methods like sod installation. It limits soil erosion, promotes natural grass establishment, and reduces losses related to transplantation. In addition to providing a durable and resilient lawn, it perfectly aligns with an eco-friendly approach that respects both nature and your land.
